The apartment is right in the center of Paris and a stone throw away from Place Vendome, Place de la Concorde and the Jardin des Tuileries. Le Louvre, Palais Royal, Madeleine, Musée d'Orsay, Champs Elysées, Opera are a 10 minutes walk and St Germain des Prés 20 minutes away (a wonderful walk through Les Tuileries-Louvre-Pont des Arts).
The apartment is right in the middle of the finest shopping area of Paris: rue Saint Honoré, rue Royale, and rue Du Faubourg St Honoré.
Walking through the Tuileries gardens to Le Louvre/Palais Royal, Champs Elysées or to the Seine offers some of the best views of Paris and is a fantastic experience.
Some of the best hotels of Paris are next to the apartment: Hotel Ritz, Hyatt, Meurice, Crillon, Vendome, and Intercontinental.
The apartment has a surface over 1000 sq/ft (105m2) and is very spacious for 2 people. It has been entirely renovated and newly furnished in 2004. The living/dining room is about 500 sq/ft, with 4 windows on the rue du Mont-Thabor, providing lots of light and a view on a beautiful building (Hotel Intercontinental).
The living-room also offers a (working) fireplace in polished marble
The bedroom is 200 sq./ft with one window on the typically Parisian internal square and is very-very quiet. Next to the bedroom is a dressing room with lots of storage space. The bathroom is well decorated with a tub and shower. Toilets are separate.
The kitchen is charming with all necessary crockery's and tools and equipment (deep freeze, microwave etc.). Dining-ware has been recently purchased at Conran, one of the best shop in Paris.
Floor is partly the original wooden floor (parquet of 1840), partly wall to wall carpeting (natural fibers).
Furnishing is new and contemporary of an Italian designer (Maxalto), mixed with a few antics. It is very elegant and comfortable. The brand new King size bed is equipped with high quality mattresses. The bed can not be split into two separate beds.
The stereo equipment is traditional and of excellent quality. A new flat screen TV is installed with access to multi-channels (incl. American and British channels).
A laptop is available with WIFI wireless high speed Internet.
Decoration reflects the owner's attraction for the sea and sailboats as well as personal souvenirs of travels in many parts of the globe. The owner, being Parisian, has collected several books on Paris, restaurants, etc.
With windows on both sides (West and East) there is always enough air circulation, and temperature remain pleasant throughout the Summer.
Overall the apartment provides the necessary serenity, relaxation, quietness, comfort and luxury that discerning guests deserve after a day of strolling and visiting Paris.
- Shopping (food and beverage):
Nearby rue du Marché Saint Honoré has excellent shops (incl. fresh fish every day).
A real market is open on the Place du Marché Saint Honoré every Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning. A small supermarket ("8 to 8") is located rue Saint Honoré near the Saint Roch church.

The best croissants and baguettes of Paris can be found at "Les délices de Manon", rue Saint Honoré, a 2 minutes walk.
Place de la Madeleine has also the renowned Hédiard and Fauchon delicacies stores. The best wine shop "Provina" is also 5 minutes away.
An English bookstore (Smith) is at the corner of rue Cambon/Rivoli and has daily American and French newspapers.
- Shopping (fashion and luxury items):
Rue du Faubourg St. Honoré; rue St. Honoré, Place Vendome, Opéra, Madeleine and adjacent streets offer the finest shopping of Paris.
- Public Transportation:
The subway stations "Concorde" or "Tuileries" are a 3 minutes walk. A taxi stand is at the corner of rue Mont Thabor and Castiglione.
- Restaurants:
There are numerous restaurants of excellent quality in this area incl. the best Japanese of Paris (Kanugawa, rue du Mont Thabor), simple brasserie (Flot, rue Cambon), bistros type (place du Marché St. Honoré), 3 star restaurants (Carré des Feuillants, Meurice, Lucas Carton etc.). Laduré a wonderful 17th century pastry/tea room is at the corner of St. Honoré/Royale. Costes (rue St Honoré) hosts models and fashion stars in a wonderful inner square. Marly is a wonderful outside restaurant/coffee shop, inside the Louvre in front of the glass pyramid (10 minutes walk).
- Movie, theaters, museums:
One can easily walk to most places (e.g. Champs Elysées for movies).
Museums such as Orsay, Louvre, Orangerie, Grand Palais, Musée Rodin are all within walking distance.
- Safety:
This area is very safe due to the proximity of renowned luxury hotels as well as the American Embassy and Consulate (rue de Mondovi). In addition the building entrance is equipped with a digicode, which is activated every evening, night, and weekend. The apartment door has 2 safety locks and a security from the inside. French and private police are often present in the rue du Mont Thabor because of the Intercontinental and Jolly Hotels. No robbery has ever been reported in the building. A safe is also installed in the apartment for customer's valuables. |
